What is the Northern Cancer Alliance?
About Us
The Northern Cancer Alliance is one of several Cancer Alliances across England, set up by NHS England to lead the way in transforming cancer services. We cover the North East and North Cumbria – a region with a proud history of innovation and collaboration.
We work with the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS) a partnership of organisations that provide health and care services across our region. Our role is to support local teams to deliver the best possible cancer care, reduce inequalities, and make sure patients and families are at the heart of everything we do.
We work with a broad range of stakeholders:
- NHS England – including the National Cancer Programme
- NENC Provider Collaborative
- NENC ICB
- Primary Care Networks
- NHS Foundation Trusts
- Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) and partner organisations
- Local Authority public health teams
- Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria
- Research Networks
- Higher education institutes
- Healthwatch
- Patient & Carer Groups
