A new website is now available to support women experiencing menopause symptoms during or after cancer treatment.
For women affected by cancer, menopause symptoms are common and can be difficult to manage. Many say they feel unsure about what is happening to their bodies and where to find trusted, cancer‑specific information.
Menopause, Cancer & Me has been developed by Northern Cancer Alliance to address this gap.

The resource, put together with input from menopause specialist and GP Dr Charlotte Gooding, provides clear, accessible guidance to help people better understand their symptoms and feel more confident seeking help.
The website includes information on:
- menopause symptoms after cancer
- lifestyle and wellbeing support
- treatments and therapies that may be discussed
- prompts to support conversations with healthcare professionals
Menopause, Cancer & Me is designed to sit alongside clinical care, not replace it, and can be used at any time to support understanding and reassurance.
Dr Gooding (pictured) said: “Going through menopause during or after cancer treatment can be incredibly difficult, often leading to more severe symptoms than a natural menopause.
“Unfortunately, much of the menopause information currently available is not specific to cancer patients. It doesn’t consider the impacts of treatments, or that some patients may not be able to take hormone replacement therapy.
“I’ve been delighted to work with Northern Cancer Alliance to develop this resource to support women on their journey through cancer, alongside their clinical care.
“I’d urge anyone who’s experiencing menopause symptoms and undergoing cancer treatment to make use of the resource and reach out for support. The important thing to remember is that you are not alone, support is here every step of the way.”
The resource also features top tips for coping with menopause and cancer which includes caring for the mind and body and protecting the bones and heart.
Menopause, Cancer & Me complements NCA’s My Wellbeing Space which provides trusted health and wellbeing advice and support on physical and emotional wellbeing.
