Patient and public involvement
Getting Involved
The Northern Cancer Alliance offers a range of opportunities for you to share your experiences and help shape cancer services across our region.
Your voice is vital—it ensures that services are designed around what matters most to patients and carers, improving care and outcomes for everyone.
If you have had cancer, received treatment and care in the North East and North Cumbria, or are a carer or someone affected by cancer who wants to make a difference, there are several ways to get involved:
- Work as a Lay Representative, acting as a link between the Board and patient advocates who work with the Alliance.
- Offer your Patient with Lived Experience voice to influence service improvements.
- Share you patient story to raise awareness.
- Join our Readers’ Panel to review and provide feedback on patient information and resources.
- Respond to local and national surveys.
- Connect locally by joining a patient group or charity in your area, or through your Trust.
Your involvement helps us deliver excellent cancer services that truly reflect the needs of patients and carers.
