What is mesothelioma?
Mesothelioma is a rare cancer which affects the lining of some organs in the body. It is most often found in the lungs (pleura) but can also be found in the abdomen (peritoneum), heart (pericardium) and testes. It is usually caused by contact with asbestos.

If you live in the North East and North Cumbria, you may be referred to the Mesothelioma Mulitidisciplinary Team (MDT) for a second opinion about your diagnosis and your best options for treatment and care.
