Breast Urgent Suspected Cancer Referrals

The form has been agreed at a regional level and is in line with the NICE guidance NG12: Suspected Cancer Recognition and Referral. It has been developed to be used as an integrated form in EMIS Web and System One GP clinical systems.

Breast Pain Pathway

The NENC Breast Pain Pathway was launched in Feb 2023.

Patients can be reassured that breast pain alone is not usually a symptom of cancer. The risk of finding cancer in a patient with breast pain is lower than the screened population incidence.
