Roadshow raises awareness of lung cancer screening

A roadshow raising awareness of lung cancer screening reached hundreds of people across the North East and North Cumbria last week and encouraged those eligible to take up this potentially life-saving opportunity.

Organised by Northern Cancer Alliance in collaboration with Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, the roadshow – complete with inflatable lungs – stopped off in Whitehaven, Blyth, Boldon, Hartlepool, Newcastle and Seaham.

Members of local lung cancer screening teams and staff from the foundation were on-hand to give advice, answer any questions and signpost to support and services.
