Cancer Alliance Board

Our Board operates on an advisory basis for transformation activities, using a consensus-based model to bring local partners together to transform outcomes.

As a Cancer Alliance, we are an integral part of the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) and work closely with the Provider Collaborative as well as with the NHS England National Cancer Programme Team.

Mr Andy Welch, Medical Director and Deputy Chief Executive, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is the Alliance Chair.

Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for the cancer programme is Dr Neil O’Brien, Executive Medical Director, North East and North Cumbria ICB.
