Lung Cancer Case Finding
A number of areas in the North East and North Cumbria are running Lung Cancer Case Finding projects in some of their practices. This includes:
- North Cumbria
- North Tyneside
- Northumberland
- County Durham
Case finding is aimed at identifying lung cancer at an earlier, more treatable stage, similar to the Targeted Lung Health Checks Programme, but the project is open to a smaller cohort of patients. Patients who are eligible will be offered a CT scan during their annual COPD review.
If you have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), ask at your next COPD review whether you might be eligible for a scan under the Lung Cancer Case Finding project.
