Cancer Care Co-ordinator and FDS Easy Read Resources
The Network, Be Cancer Aware, the Easy Information Service from Skills for People and colleagues from South Tees and the Northern Centre for Cancer Care – Oncology have co-designed easy read, accessible patient information for the Faster Diagnosis pathways.
The easy read resources are to support people in understanding what a faster diagnostic service is and the role of the cancer care co-ordinator.
The resources can be adapted by Trusts across the region to fit local services.
Targeted Lung Health Checks (TLHC) Learning Disability Pathway
We are working in partnership with the Targeted Lung Health Check pilots across the region to embed a reasonably adjusted pathway into the programme offering support to all those who are flagged as having a learning disability on the GP records.
More information on the pathway is available on request.
Radiology General Anaesthetic Pathway
The North East and Cumbria Learning Disability Network and Northern Cancer Alliance have worked collaboratively to design and develop a reasonably adjusted care pathway for people with learning disabilities who require general anaesthetic [GA] for diagnostic imaging after it emerged there was significant delay, variation and inequality across Cumbria and the North East.
